#hopeless was started in April 2011 because of the lack of friendly channels in OperaNet. It is a replica to the channel #hope, which unfortunately lost its general purpose since the founder left IRC.

We aren't trying to take away from any channels, but only to make some sort of an unique one. We differ from other group channels, because we are anti-perv, anti-trolling and always very social! Our general guideline is friendship and mutual respect.

We want a channel that is permissive and has users who are very open-minded. This is a place where all of our friends can come and be together in a decent environment. I guess that is the idea of most of the channels, but I think we are doing it a bit differently.

 

The owner considers this channel to be an extension of every user's living room. As such, we consider ourselves a very tight group. Nevertheless, newbies adhering to the channel will find themselves very warmly received, if they have the curiosity to read and follow our basic guideline rules.

We have people from all walks of life and from all over OperaNet. Our channel is small now, but growing every day.
